Infighting in Gadwal constituency came to the fore once again on Tuesday with TRS MLA Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy kicking off a row at a function on Tuesday. The incident happened here at the inauguration of Backward Classes Welfare Gurukul School. Differences that existed between Krishna Mohan Reddy and Zilla Parishad Chairperson K Saritha reportedly triggered tension at the inaugural function.
Krishna Mohan Reddy took objection to Saritha declaring open the Gurukul school before he arrived to participate in the function. The MLA caught hold of the collar of an official. The official was shocked when the MLA shouted and then caught hold of the collar.
Krishna Mohan Reddy, however, denied that he had roughed up the officer. He said that the incident happened in the heat of the moment. Speaking at a media conference, Krishna Mohan Reddy said that he was invited to the inauguration of the Gurukul School. The officials, however, violated the protocol by declaring the school open in his absence.
Inappropriate comments by an officer, R C Vengal Reddy, sparked the trouble, he said. He wanted to question the school principal as to why he had allowed the inauguration of the school even before he arrived to participate in the function. He denied that the squabbles within the party led to trouble at the school function. He sought to explain that he had never interfered in the functioning of the officers.
