‘Rs 1 lakh for Indiramma house beneficiaries’

Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the government will give Rs 1 lakh to those who are allotted Indiramma Houses as the first instalment.  The Minister said the government is allotting 4.5 lakh houses in the first phase and that 80 lakh people had applied for Indiramma houses. He said the government is displaying 580 model Indiramma houses across the state.
He said the government is going to complete the construction of a model house in Kusumanchi village by Sankranthi and that the Congress government had planned the scheme in such a way that beneficiaries can construct their own houses.
He said that those who did not apply in Praja Palana can apply through special counters and that the deceased’s legal heirs can also apply for Indiramma houses in case a person who applied for Indiramma house dies.
He said that the government took this decision to see that the poor did not face trouble and that officials who go to villages for surveys should go along with Indiramma Committees.
