Rs 13.33 crore seized in the district: DEO

A significant cash seizure of Rs 13,33,19,960, along with 2,541 licenced firearms in the distric, has been announced by the District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose. Additionally, illegal liquor totalling 19,902.7 liters and goods worth Rs 87,98,039 were also seized.
Ronald Rose said, 19,902.7 liters of illegal liquor and goods valued at Rs 87,98,039 were seized. Legal action, including the arrest of 148 individuals out of 153 against whom cases were registered, was taken. Along with 312 complaints concerning election-related cash and other items were addressed and resolved, FIRs against 205 individuals have been filed and there was a total deposit of 2,541 licenced firearms.
Ronald Rose said, “In the past 24 hours, Rs 1,40,900 in cash and goods worth Rs 66,603 were seized. The Excise Department confiscated 29.98 liters of illegal liquor, leading to the arrest of four individuals after cases were filed against three. Six complaints regarding cash and items were resolved, and FIRs have been filed on five individuals. Moreover, 29 licenced weapons were deposited.
