Minister for Excise and Mines Kollu Ravindra has said that a project worth Rs 220 crore under the Jal Jeevan Mission will be taken up to provide protected potable water to every household in Krishna district.
Addressing a programme here on Monday, the Minister said that Rs 160 crore was sanctioned to the district for carrying out the works under the MGNREGS. He said that proposals of Rs 30 crore have been sent to the government for the construction of compound walls for roads, drainages and graveyards at various places in Machilipatnam constituency. Similarly, under the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme, a Rs 220 crore project would be taken up to provide a protected drinking water tap to every household.
The Minister stated that proposals of Rs 105 crore for development works were sent to the government to carry out works from Chilakalapudi railway track to Pedapatnam and to village panchayats from Khalekan Peta below Sharada Nagar.
Kollu Ravindra said that he is making efforts to get matching grants sanctioned for the Machilipatnam municipality under Amrit Phase 2.
Houses would be allocated to every eligible beneficiary and housewarming would also be held by the end of Sravana Masam, he assured. Gudivada former MLA Ravi Venkateswara Rao was among those who attended the programme.
