a major boost to Sri City’s energy sector, AG&P Pratham has begun constructing a comprehensive gas pipeline network. This initiative aims to deliver reliable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly natural gas to industrial, commercial, and residential areas within Sri City. The inauguration ceremony, attended by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, highlights AG&P Pratham’s dedication to advancing sustainable development in both Sri City and Andhra Pradesh.
Abhilesh Gupta, Managing Director and CEO of AG&P Pratham, remarked, “We are excited to partner with Sri City to develop this natural gas infrastructure. Our goal is to provide a dependable energy solution for industries and businesses. This project is a significant step in transforming the energy landscape, with the pipeline network expected to connect potential customers in the coming months. Industries in Sri City, such as metal, automotive, ceramics, packaging, and dairy, will benefit greatly from this clean energy initiative. Our planned Rs 3,500 Crore investment over the next five years will facilitate a transition to natural gas, a more eco-friendly and economical fuel, for customers across Andhra Pradesh.”
Gautam Anand, Regional Head, added, “AG&P Pratham is working on city gas distribution networks in seven districts of the state, including Tirupati, Chittoor, SPSR Nellore, YSR Kadapa, Annamayya, Sri Sathya Sai, and Anantapur. We have already launched 56 CNG stations, including three LCNG stations, and have laid over 3,350 inch-kilometres of pipelines, serving more than 46,000 households.” The memorandum of understanding signed in March between AG&P Pratham and Sri City marks a strong partnership aimed at establishing a widespread natural gas pipeline network throughout the business city. This collaboration also offers industries in Sri City the chance to reduce their carbon footprint by switching their vehicles to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
