A hospital development committee meeting was held on Thursday, presided over by District Collector K. Vetri Selvi. MP Putta Mahesh Kumar, who attended the meeting, emphasized that steps are being taken to revamp the GGH completely, aiming to bring it on par with corporate healthcare standards.
The MP announced that Rs 4 crore worth of advanced medical equipment would soon be provided to the hospital, and vacant positions would be filled. He assured that additional facilities would be introduced for patients in the coming days. He urged the doctors at GGH to ensure that no poor patient is denied medical care and encouraged the medical staff to serve patients with dedication, noting the large number of people who come from various places for treatment. The MP also stressed the importance of ensuring that no patient dies due to a lack of proper medical treatment. District Collector Vetri Selvi added that the main issues faced by the hospital would be identified and addressed.
“Efforts are underway to make GGH the best hospital. Immediate steps must be taken to fill all vacant posts, especially in emergency wards, by deputing doctors and staff,” the Collector instructed. She also directed officials to send proposals for the necessary medical equipment required by the hospital.
Collector Vetri Selvi further ordered the construction of a waiting hall for patients on the hospital premises. She stressed that blood must be provided free of charge to patients in need through the Indian Red Cross Society blood bank and warned of strict action if any staff negligence in patient care is found.
