Minister for Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar has announced that so far Rs 541.68 crore worth paddy produce has been purchased from the farmers.The Minister said that money is being credited into the accounts of farmers within 24 hours after purchasing their paddy produce. The government’s initiation of crediting money within 24 hours after purchasing paddy produce made farmers happy and a festive atmosphere prevailed in the agriculture fields, he noted. The farming community is overwhelmingly welcoming the Government’s initiation of disbursing money within hours of purchasing their paddy produce. “Manohar said: “As many as 741 paddy procurement centres have been set up in Parvathipuram Manyam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Eluru, Kakinada, Konaseema, Krishna and NTR districts. Through the 741 paddy procurement centres, 2,35,410.680 Metric Tonnes of paddy had been purchased from 31,489 farmers. So far Rs 541.68 crore has been purchased from the farmers of which Rs 516.21 crore has been disbursed.The Minister stated that out of Rs 516.21 crore, Rs 501.34 crore was credited within 24 hours into the bank accounts of farmers while Rs 14.87 crore was credited into their accounts within 48 hours of purchasing their produce.
