Minister for Housing Jogi Ramesh has said that the government has sanctioned Rs 70 crore to prevent erosion at the coastal area.
The Minister said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is helping a lot for the progress of the constituency by granting funds. In order to provide good governance, village secretariat system, RBKs and Wellness Centers are being made available in the villages, he added. Minister Jogi Ramesh participated in a meeting held in AIMS College in Mummidivaram on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that as per the instructions of the Chief Minister, the meeting of the Constituency Development Committee was held for the first time in Mummidivaram in Konaseema district. Through these development committees special initiatives would be taken to ensure that the constituencies achieve progress.
The Minister said that the local legislators used the support of the District Collector for the development of the constituency and the social responsibility funds of the oil companies utilizing the oil deposits for the development of the constituency.
MLC K Suryanarayana Rao said that the Chief Minister provided opportunities for the people of the state to pursue higher education locally and abroad by making revolutionary changes in the education system.
MLA P Satish Kumar said that he asked the in-charge minister to give an opportunity to build a house for those who have their own land. The layout plots were sanctioned but they were not demarcated and the boundaries were not shown. They asked for an approach road to the Mattadipalem layout, the MLA stated.
Satish Kumar urged the water resources authorities to increase the flow of water to the Aryapuram canal during the Kharif season so that the lands at the end of the canal can be irrigated in time. Similarly, it was requested to carry out the removal of hyacinth from time to time in the irrigation canals.
The MLA requested to complete the proposed water grid works to provide safe drinking water, to construct a PHC building in Palankuru soon and to provide better health services to the local people by appointing a doctor in the PDC. Collector Himanshu Shukla said that the Bhairavapalem dredging works were taken up at a cost of Rs 15 crore and the Rangaraju dredging works were taken up at a cost of Rs 94 lakh. 2,048 houses were sanctioned in 26 layouts in Mummidivaram constituency of which the construction of 670 houses have been completed. Municipal chairperson R Nagendraani and others were present.
