An amount of Rs 714 crore was deposited to farmers with Podu land titles as part of Rythu Bandhu scheme. This was disclosed by Minister for Tribal Welfare Satyavati Rathod on World Tribals Day” celebrations held on Wednesday at Banjara Bhavan, Hyderabad. She said, “Telangana is the only State in the country which stood top in distributing land pattas to the tribals. The Telangana government gives high priority to the development of tribals.”
The Minister said “CM KCR took up many programmes for the uplift of the tribals and for the welfare and development of all sections. The government is working sincerely to remove the backwardness of tribals.”
“By converting thanda into a Gram Panchayat, the dream “Our governance, our Thanda ” haves been fullfilled. The entire credit of giving power to the tribals goes to CM KCR. Apart from that, tribal reservation has been increased by 10% and employment opportunities for tribals have been increased and light has been added to their lives,” she added.
Satyavathi said, “KCR made tribal sons who were living by cultivating forest lands the owners of those lands. For 4.6 lakh acres of agricultural land, 1.51 lakh Podu farmers have been given pattas. Not only giving them the pattas, but also deposited Rs 714 crore as part of the Rythu Bandhu scheme,” she said.
The Minister said, “The government has allocated Rs 4,000 crore for constructing the roads to thandas and converting them into Gram Panchayats. Apart from that for the development of tribal children, Gurukula schools have been started in the State by the government for providing quality education. The government is working to set up 7 more Gurukulas in the State. The Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma fair, which is called the Kumbh Mela of South India, is being organised in a grand manner by allocating special funds to make Telangana known globally. Till now, the government built 32 adivasi bhavans across the State and constructed Adivasi Bhavan in Banjara Hills at a cost of Rs 25 crore.”
