Rs. 92 crore sanctioned for 983 CC roads: Collector

District Collector K. Vetri Selvi announced that Rs 92.02 crore has been sanctioned for constructing 983 cement concrete (CC) roads in rural areas under the ‘Palle Panduga’ programme in the district. Accompanied by Chintalapudi MLA Songa Roshan Kumar, the Collector inaugurated newly constructed roads in Chintalapudi, Kamavarapukota, and Asannagudem villages. The roads in Chintalapudi constituency alone were completed at a cost of Rs 2.50 crore.
She revealed that Rs 19.03 crore has been allocated for developing 187 roads in Chintalapudi constituency, with most works nearing completion and expected to be finished by the end of December. She further stated that drainage construction in rural areas would be taken up in the second phase.
MLA Songa Roshan Kumar highlighted that Chintalapudi, being a backward constituency, received priority funding for road development. Ex-MLA Ghanta Murali Ramakrishna, Nuzvid Sub-Collector B. Smaran Raj, RDO M.V. Ramana, RWS SE Trinath Babu, and DWMA PD Subba Rao were also present at the event.
