Kurnool July 26: As many as 16 passengers, travelling in an APSRTC bus, escaped unhurt when the bus collided with a tipper lorry at Tummlabailu village in Pedda Dornala mandal on the Srisailam ghat road on Wednesday.
Police said that the RTC bus belonging to Vijayawada depot was going to Srisailam. The bus collided with a tipper lorry. However all the 16 passengers travelling in the RTC and the bus driver escaped unhurt. The front portions of the bus and tipper lorry were badly damaged in the accident.
As the bus and the lorry were struck across the road after the mishap, vehicular traffic on the busy ghat road was affected for three hours. Hundreds of vehicles got stranded on either side of the ghat road.
Sub-inspector Ankamma Rao rushed to the place of accident, got the ill-fated RTC bus and tipper lorry removed from the road and regulated the traffic.
