Based on real-life events, Usurae is a rural love story that aims to strike an emotional chord with audiences. The film is slated for a theatrical release on August 1. Directed by Naveen D Gopal, the movie stars TJay Arunashalam and Janani Kunaseelan in the lead roles and is produced by Mouli M Radhakrishna.
Veteran actress Raasi plays a pivotal role in the film, and her performance has already started garnering attention. Following a positive response to the trailer, the music launch took place in Hyderabad.
“I showed the trailer to legendary actor Kamal Haasan in Chennai — he appreciated it and wished us success. We shot the film in a village near Chittoor, and it has the feel of a pure Telugu film. Everything was done very naturally,” said director Naveen.
Raasi, reflecting on her role, said, “You’ve seen a glimpse of my character in the trailer. In this film, I slapped the lead pair. In Preyasi Raave, I slapped lead actor Srikanth, and that film was a hit. In my opinion, Usurae will also be a hit — because if I slap someone, their film usually becomes a success.”
She also praised the director, saying he had a clear vision and the content is strong.
