RYTHU BANDHU SCHEME :Many farmers are yet to get benefit

The State government has so far credited an amount of Rs 260.60 crore into the accounts of 3,22,141 farmers in Sangareddy district under the Rythu Bandhu scheme. The government declared that a total of 4,04,438 farmers in the district are eligible to receive the Rythu Bandhu benefit.

The input subsidy scheme is intended to provide financial help to farmers. The government has been providing assistance to farmers during Yasangi and Vanakalam seasons.

The government announced that the farmers would get Rythu Bandhu benefit from June 26. The government also said that the farmers who got new passbooks by June 19 this year were also eligible for the scheme.

In Sangareddy district, as many as 82,297 farmers owned more than 5 acres of land. They have not so far received the money under the Rythu Bandhu scheme. It left the farmers a worried lot.

The government recently distribute passbooks to Podu cultivators. Minister for Finance T Harish Rao announce at a meeting in Zaheerabad that Podu cultivators too would get Rythu Bandhu benefit. In Sangareddy district, 1,127 farmers were given titles for Podu lands.
