SAAP chief felicitates Koneru Humpy

Chairman of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP), Animini Ravi Naidu, made a courtesy visit to World Women’s Rapid Chess Champion Koneru Humpy at her residence in Kolanukonda, Mangalagiri Assembly constituency, on Saturday. During the visit, he felicitated Humpy and extended his warm congratulations on her victory in the World Women’s Rapid Chess Championship.
Following her win, Koneru Humpy arrived at Gannavaram Airport near Vijayawada, where she received a warm welcome from SAAP officials and several sports personalities. She was then escorted to her home in Kolanukonda.
In his meeting with Koneru Humpy and her father, Dronacharya Awardee Koneru Ashok, SAAP Chairman Ravi Naidu discussed the New Sports Policy and sought Humpy’s support and valuable suggestions for the development of sports in the state. He praised Humpy’s perseverance, dedication, and determination, stating that her achievement in the World Women’s Rapid Chess Championship is a proud moment for the entire Telugu community.
Humpy, in turn, expressed her intention to meet Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu soon. She also promised to continue her efforts for the advancement of sports and games in the state.
