Saddula Bathukamma  Grand celebration with 10,000 women on Tank Bund tomorrow  

The grand Saddula Bathukamma celebrations are set to take place on October 10 at Hyderabad’s Tank Bund, with 10,000 women participating, according to Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari.
A high-level review meeting was held at the Secretariat on Tuesday where officials from various departments and police attended to finalise arrangements for the event. Santhi Kumari stated that on the 10th, at 4 pm, thousands of women will carry Bathukamma in a grand procession from the Martyrs’ Memorial in front of the Secretariat to the Tank Bund. Hundreds of artists will also join the rally with their performances. She mentioned that public representatives would attend the celebrations at the stage set up on the Tank Bund.
As part of the festivities, special firework displays and laser shows will be held from Buddha Statue and Sanjeevaiah Park. Additionally, 150 major junctions across the city will be adorned with Bathukamma and decorated with lights, adding festive charm to the city.
Since a large number of women are expected to come from nearby colonies and areas to participate in Bathukamma at the Tank Bund, traffic diversions, barricading and basic amenities will be arranged to ensure smooth flow. Special arrangements will also be made for Bathukamma immersion at the Bathukamma Ghat near Children’s Park and on Necklace Road.
Santhi Kumari directed that each department assign a senior officer to oversee the arrangements. The meeting was attended by key officials including Commissioner of Police CV Anand, GHMC Commissioner Amrapali Kata and Health Secretary Dr Christina Z Chongthu.
