Saiee Manjrekar: Girl-next-door roles suit me at the moment

Must read

At just 22, Saiee Manjrekar is already carving out a niche in the film industry and she’s comfortable with her current girl-next-door image. The talented actor, who first captured attention with Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3, is keen to explore diverse roles as her career progresses, acknowledging that her youthful and relatable persona works well for now.
Following her debut, Saiee expanded her portfolio with notable performances in films like the Telugu drama Ghani, the gripping Major and the action-packed Skanda. Her upcoming project, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, is set to offer a fresh perspective, featuring her in the role of a younger version of Tabu’s character. The film also stars Ajay Devgn and Shantanu Maheshwari, adding to its anticipated appeal.
In a recent conversation, Saiee shared her thoughts on her current image. “The girl-next-door roles suit me at the moment, as they reflect my youthful and somewhat naive appearance. As I gain more experience and evolve, I believe my roles will diversify naturally. Until then, I’m happy to embrace these roles. When the right time comes, I’m eager to break free from this image and explore different characters,” she said.
Saiee, the daughter of celebrated actor and filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar, is aware of the industry’s unpredictability. “The journey of every actor is unique,” she noted. “There are always obstacles, but I see it as a race. Everyone is striving towards the same goal, but the path varies—some face uphill challenges while others coast downhill. It’s important to navigate your journey and embrace the experiences along the way.”
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, directed by Neeraj Pandey, tells the poignant story of a couple—played by Ajay Devgn and Tabu—who are separated when the former is imprisoned for murder. Their lives intersect once more, 20 years later, when he is released from jail. Reflecting on her experience working with Tabu, Saiee praised her co-star’s effortless presence. “Tabu ma’am’s natural ease on set is incredibly inspiring. Her ability to be so genuine and effortless in front of the camera is something I deeply admire,” Saiee remarked. The film, which also features Jimmy Shergill, is scheduled for release on August 2. Produced by Narendra Hirawat, Kumar Mangat Pathak (Panorama Studios), Sangeeta Ahir, and Shital Bhatia and presented by NH Studioz and Friday Filmworks, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha promises to be a noteworthy addition to Saiee’s growing filmography.
