Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, YSRCP State general secretary and Government Advisor (Public Affairs), has firmly dismissed speculations of early elections in the State.

Addressing the media on Thursday, Reddy stated that the YSRCP respects the people’s decision and intends to govern for the full five-year term, utilising every day to serve the public. He emphasised Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s unwavering belief in positive voting, asserting that the party stands by its promises and is actively engaged in various welfare and development programs for the people.

Reddy asserted that the State’s electoral scenario is clear, devoid of any preconceived notions. He stressed that the YSRCP respects the judgment of the people and is committed to serving till the last day of its mandate. The party will continue to work diligently, ensuring that its achievements are effectively communicated to the public before any future elections are held.

Reddy reiterated that there are no intentions to hold early elections in the state, reiterating the party’s stance. Recalling previous attempts by Chandrababu Naidu to seek sympathy through the Alipiri incident, Reddy labelled those efforts futile. He alleged that Naidu and his associates propagated false claims of early elections through sympathetic media coverage, aiming to safeguard TD leaders and cadre and attract candidates for the upcoming elections.

Reddy expressed suspicions that Naidu might be attempting to bring Pawan Kalyan into his fold or form alliances if no candidates come forward. He firmly stated that the elections are due by May next year, allowing Naidu ample time to form alliances, while the YSRCP has no plans for early polls.
Reddy highlighted the transparency in Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visits to Delhi, emphasising that the party consistently reports on his engagements and the resulting outcomes. He compared this approach to the previous administration under Naidu, suggesting that his actions in Delhi remained shrouded in secrecy.

Reddy asserted that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy clearly articulates the state’s requirements during his visits to Delhi, ensuring that the public witnesses the results.

Regarding YS Sharmila’s decision to form a party in Telangana, Reddy stated that she now takes independent decisions as the president of her party. He clarified that any political choices made by Sharmila are solely her prerogative.

Reddy refuted allegations of YSRCP involvement in the appointment of Daggubati Purandeswari as the AP president of BJP, emphasising that the BJP is a major political party with autonomous decision-making. He stated that the YSRCP has no affiliations or intentions of forming alliances with the BJP and believes that the selection of the State president solely rests with the party.
