Must read

Despite the lack of an official announcement, acclaimed director Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana remains one of Indian cinema’s most anticipated projects. Over the past few months, various speculations have shed light on the film’s probable cast, with Ranbir Kapoor rumored to play Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, and Kannada actor Yash as Raavan. A recent report says that another talented actor will join the ensemble cast. According to Filmibeat, prominent actress Sakshi Tanwar is being considered to play Raavan’s wife, Mandodari. A source close to the production claimed, “Nitesh Tiwari already has a perfect cast in place for Ramayana, and Sakshi Tanwar has been cast as Raavan’s wife Mandodari. She has been attending script reading sessions with the team and is excited to share screen space with KGF actor Yash.” The source went on to say, “Not only her, but Lara Dutta and Rakul Preet Singh also participated in reading sessions.” For those unfamiliar, Lara Dutta and Rakul Preet Singh are rumoured to be circling the roles of Kaikeyi and Shurpanakha, respectively. Interestingly, this would not be Sakshi’s first collaboration with filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari. They previously collaborated on the critically and commercially successful 2016 film Dangal, in which she played Aamir Khan’s wife.
