Social Welfare Minister Merugu Nagarjuna has resolved the long-pending salary issue faced by the employees working in post-matric SC hostels under outsourcing system. The service of those employees has been linked to the Andhra Pradesh Corporation for Outsourced Services (APCOS) to ensure timely payment of their salaries.

Earlier, the 411 employees of 160 post-matric SC hostels in the State, who work as cooks and sanitation workers, were paid wages by private agencies. Due to the delay in payment of the salaries by the agency, the employees were absent from their duties resulting in the students facing difficulties.

The issue was brought to the notice of Minister Nagarjuna and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy approved their proposal. The services of these employees, who are currently working under the third party system, will be accommodated in the already sanctioned posts in the pre-matric SC hostels, and their wages will be paid through APCOS every month along with others. Later, Minister Nagarjuna thanked CM Jagan.

Out of these 411 post-matric SC hostel employees who are currently connected to APCAS, the social welfare authorities have issued orders allotting 37 to Srikakulam, 52 to Vizianagaram, 17 to Visakhapatnam, 120 to East Godavari, 82 to Krishna, 62 to Prakasam and 41 to Anantapur districts.

On the occasion, the employees expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister and Merugu Nagarjuna for taking the initiative to solve their long pending problem.
