Minister Jogi Ramesh inaugurates AP State Housing Corporation’s 45th annual celebrations

Minister for Housing Jogi Ramesh has said that Andhra Pradesh is in the first place in the country in sanctioning houses. The government has sanctioned 21 lakh houses so far, which are under construction in different stages, he said.

Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation’s 45th annual day celebrations were held at a private function hall in Vijayawada on Wednesday. Minister Ramesh inaugurated the celebrations.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh said that under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 1.19 lakh houses were sanctioned in the country, while the number of houses sanctioned by the State government was 21 lakh. As many as 80 lakh houses were constructed by the AP State Housing Corporation, he added.

Further, he said the State government, under the leadership of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, would fulfil the dreams of 28.30 lakh people of having their own houses, by spending Rs.51 lakh crore. Also, around 17,000 new villages and cities would be formed with these new colonies in the State, he explained.

Meanwhile, he said that the State government was taking measures for the welfare of the Housing Corporation employees. Promotions from AE to DE, DE to EE and Work Inspector to AE were given in six months. Subordinate staff also got promotions, he added.

AP State Housing Corporation Chairman D Dorababu, Special Chief Secretary Ajay Jain, Managing Director Lakshmisha, AP TIDCO Chairman J Prasanna Kumar, CM’s secretary R Mutyala Raju, Additional Secretary Bharath Gupta and others were present.
