Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, as part of the ‘Samagratha Abhiyan,’ visited Narva and Balichakra mandals, identified as Aspirational Blocks under NITI Aayog’s initiative, along with Yadgir, an Aspirational district in Telangana and Karnataka. The visit focused on reviewing the implementation of NITI Aayog’s programmes related to education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, and economic development.
Accompanied by Mahbubnagar MP DK Aruna and officials from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar began his tour at the Narva mandal Centre in Makthal constituency, where he was greeted by people and BJP workers.
District Collector Snigdha Patnaik, the local SP, and other senior officials also welcomed him.
During his visit, Sanjay Kumar interacted with residents to understand their challenges. At an Anganwadi Centre, he engaged with children, reviewed the nutritional food provided, and hosted a baby shower for pregnant women, distributing fruits and gifts. He also planted a sapling to commemorate his visit.
He inspected a Primary Health Centre (PHC) and directed the District Collector to appoint a regular doctor and ensure the availability of essential facilities. Addressing local concerns about road connectivity to the Mandal Centre, he promised that steps would be taken. Visiting a school, he interacted with students during their mid-day meals and instructed officials to arrange utensils for cooking.
Later, Sanjay and DK Aruna met with the Narayanpet District Collector, urging measures to transform Narva Mandal Centre as part of its Aspirational Block status. He stressed the need for comprehensive development and assured residents that progress would be reviewed during his next visit.
The Union Minister of State continued his ‘Samagratha Abhiyan’ tour by visiting Balichakra Taluka Centre in Karnataka’s Yadgir District, an Aspirational Block under NITI Aayog’s initiative. He was warmly welcomed by the Yadgir District Collector, SP, and senior officials, receiving a guard of honor from the local police.
During his visit, he inspected a government school, interacted with students, and asked about their career aspirations. When he jokingly inquired if anyone aspired to become a leader or MLA, a student enthusiastically replied, “I want to become an MLA, sir,” earning applause. The students highlighted issues like the lack of clean drinking water, a boundary wall for the nearby college, and shortages of science, English, and Hindi teachers. Bandi Sanjay directed the District Collector to address these concerns promptly.
He announced plans to revisit Yadgir District in March or April, urging visible improvements in the Aspirational Blocks by then. While reviewing the progress, he questioned discrepancies in program implementation, such as low Antenatal Care (ANC) registration rates compared to the state average, incomplete soil sample collections, and reports claiming 100% target achievement in some areas. He sought explanations from officials and emphasized the need for thorough implementation of the “Samagratha Abhiyan” programs.
Later, Bandi Sanjay visited the BJP District Party Office in Yadgir, accompanied by senior BJP leaders, to review party development efforts. He criticised the Karnataka Congress government for its failures and urged party workers to hold it accountable for unfulfilled election promises. Reflecting on his tenure as BJP Telangana State President, he recounted struggles, including multiple cases filed against party workers and himself, and encouraged them to remain fearless.
He also paid a courtesy visit to Gurmitkal MLA Sharan Gowda’s residence. On Friday, Bandi Sanjay will visit Raichur District, Karnataka, to review NITI Aayog programme implementation and then proceed to Gattu Mandal in Jogulamba Gadwal District, Telangana, to interact with locals and address their concerns.
