The Andhra Pradesh Forest Department has launched the Sanjeevani scheme, aimed at providing welfare and social security benefits to its 2,870 employees (both gazetted and non-gazetted) from November 1, 2023. The scheme is designed to ensure financial protection for employees and their families.
Under the Sanjeevani scheme, gazetted employees contribute Rs 1,000 per month, while non-gazetted employees contribute Rs 500 per month. These amounts are deducted from their salaries and deposited into the Sanjeevani bank account.
The scheme offers financial assistance to the families of employees who pass away while in service. In the event of the death of a gazetted employee, the family will receive Rs 10,00,000, while the family of a non-gazetted employee will be provided Rs 5,00,000 as financial aid.
Since the implementation of the scheme on November 1, 2023, financial assistance amounting to Rs 35,00,000 has been provided to the families of seven non-gazetted employees who passed away in service. A total of Rs 1,89,50,316 has been collected from the contributions of the 2,870 employees under the Sanjeevani scheme.
