Actor Saptagiri, who started his career as a comedian before transitioning to lead roles, is set to return as the main actor in the upcoming film Pellikani Prasad, scheduled for release on March 21. However, the actor recently revealed that finding a female lead for the film was a major challenge.
Speaking at a promotional event, Saptagiri admitted that many actresses declined to act opposite him, as they did not want to be paired with a comedian.
“We faced a lot of difficulties in casting a female lead. Many actresses refused to act opposite me,” he shared. Eventually, Priyanka Sharma accepted the role, and the film was successfully completed.
Saptagiri also revealed that Dil Raju is distributing the film after his brother Sirish saw a preview and decided to back it. “After watching just half an hour of the film, Sirish said he wanted to distribute it and asked me to start promotions,” he stated.
Despite his previous lead roles in Saptagiri Express and Saptagiri LLB not performing well at the box office, Saptagiri remains confident about this project. “I gave myself 100 marks for this film, and I am sure the audience will do the same,” he said.
