Sarathkumar’s b’day treat: Two great projects

Must read

In a grand tribute to veteran actor R. Sarathkumar on his birthday, the team behind Vishnu Manchu’s highly anticipated film Kannappa has released a striking character poster featuring the seasoned actor. Sarathkumar steps into the role of ‘Nathanadhudu’ and the new poster is nothing short of captivating. It showcases him as a formidable tribal warrior, brandishing two swords with an intense expression, seemingly in the throes of a battle cry. This powerful imagery not only highlights Sarathkumar’s commanding presence but also teases the depth and intensity of his character in the film.
The release of Sarathkumar’s character poster follows an earlier teaser that piqued the audience’s curiosity by revealing glimpses of the film’s epic narrative. Kannappa promises a riveting tale based on the legend of an archer who discovers a hidden shrine of Shiva Linga and dedicates his life to its protection. The teaser also introduced viewers to a fierce battle for the Vayulinga, a symbolic representation of Lord Shiva. In this conflict, tribes clash over the sacred relic, with Vishnu Manchu’s Kannappa displaying remarkable fighting prowess that leaves his adversaries in awe.
Adding to the film’s allure is an ensemble cast that brings together some of the biggest names in Indian cinema. The legendary Mohan Babu, alongside superstars Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, Preity Mukundhan and Kajal Aggarwal, join forces to bring this mythological story to life.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa is not just another film; it is envisioned as a pan-Indian epic, set to release in several Indian languages as well as in English. The screenplay, crafted by Vishnu Manchu, promises a blend of action, mythology and drama that aims to captivate audiences across the globe.
On the production front, Kannappa is backed by the banners of 24 Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment, with Mohan Babu at the helm.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of his birthday, the makers of Siddharth 40 had shared a poster, announcing that the senior Tamil actor has also joined the cast.
The upcoming project is directed by Sri Ganesh, while Arun Viswa under the banner Shanthi Talkies is producing the film.
