Nandamuri Balakrishna paid heartfelt tribute to the legendary actress B Saroja Devi, highlighting her rare stature in Indian cinema.
“She had the extraordinary distinction of being a hit pair with three giants simultaneously — NTR in Telugu, MGR in Tamil, and Rajkumar in Kannada,” Balakrishna said. “She acted alongside my father, NTR, in nearly 20 films across two decades. What’s remarkable is that she portrayed both Goddess Sita and Mandodari with NTR, a rare achievement in mythological cinema.”
Calling her demise a “profound loss to Indian cinema, especially the South Indian film industry,” Balakrishna added, “Her contribution both on and off-screen will continue to inspire generations of artists and film professionals. I extend my heartfelt condolences to her family.”
