Sathyaraj denies acting in PM Modi’s biopic

Must read

Actor Sathyaraj refuted speculation that he might feature in a biography about Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a pre-release event on Wednesday, May 29.
The veteran actor mockingly implied that if his friend, the late filmmaker Manivannan, who supported the anti-caste icon Periyar, had directed the picture, he would have been in it. Sathyaraj also made a jest, saying that if modern Tamil anti-caste filmmakers like Vetrimaaran, Pa Ranjith, or Mari Selvaraj directed the Modi biopic, it would “come out well.”
He clarified, “Nobody has approached me [to play the role of Modi]. Even if they do … I may have acted in it if it were directed by my friend, the late director Manivannan, who used to show characters ‘as they were’.”  Sathyaraj joked that he was prepared to play the lead role in the biopic, even if Vijay Milton, the director of Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan, didn’t use any propaganda. Continuing in the same spirit, he declared that if Vetrimaaran, Pa Ranjith, or Mari Selvaraj were to direct Modi’s biography, he would be willing to play the role! The directors listed above are all against the right-wing. Meanwhile, if the reports are to be believed, he will be playing the chief antagonist in AR Murugadoss’ Sikandar with actor Salman Khan.
