Actor Satya Dev, one of the busiest stars today, headlines the web series Arabia Kadali, which will stream on Amazon Prime from August 8. This emotionally charged survival drama is created by none other than Krish Jagarlamudi, with Chintakindi Srinivas Rao supporting in writing.
Produced by Y. Rajeev Reddy and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi and directed by VV Surya Kumar, the series stars Anandhi opposite Satya Dev. The ensemble cast includes Nassar, Raghu Babu, Dalip Tahil, Poonam Bajwa, Ravi Varma and Amith Tiwari.
Set against the backdrop of two rival fishing villages, the story revolves around a group of fishermen who accidentally drift into international waters and are imprisoned in a foreign land. The narrative follows two journeys: Badiri and his fellow fishermen’s harrowing ordeal and Ganga’s inspiring transformation as she challenges the system.
The story explores themes of resilience, brotherhood and survival, underlining that humanity transcends borders. Interestingly, the story’s theme reminds viewers of Thandel, which is based on true events. Sources say the makers of Arabia Kadali had promised to release it only after Thandel hit theatres. However, while Thandel is based on real incidents, Arabia Kadali is entirely fictional, the makers clarified.
