Kajal Aggarwal starrer Satyabhama is making a lot of noise now. The film, directed by Suman Chikkala, is all set to hit theatres on June 7. While we recently brought to you an interview with director Suman, we have with us today the producers of the movie, Bobby Tikka and Srinivas Rao Takkalapelly, who highlighted key aspects of the movie during an interview with us.
During our interview with director Suman, he credited director Sashi Kiran for the place the movie is in right now. Sashi Kiran happens to be Bobby Tikka’s brother, and for Bobby, this is his debut as a producer. He shared, “We ventured into production after being involved in the industry for some time. Satyabhama marks our debut under the banner of Aurum Arts. Our goal is to deliver compelling content to audiences while providing opportunities for emerging talents. Suman, our director, makes his debut with this film. We identified singers from music bands and granted them opportunities to perform two songs.”
He continued, “Although we didn’t collaborate on Sashi’s films, he often consulted my father and I. We shared some ideas. Following the completion of Major, we decided to establish our own production house. We believed that having our own banner would enable us to bring our preferred stories to the screen and leverage our distribution experience.”
On the other hand, Srinivas Rao Takkalapelly expressed, “When we conceptualised Satyabhama, we considered three or four options for the heroine. Kajal was our initial choice. Upon hearing the story, she immediately agreed. Typically, she takes a few days to respond, but this time, she expressed her enthusiasm right away. Kajal shared our excitement for the storyline. Naveen Chandra embraced his significant role enthusiastically.”
According to the producers, the storyline of Satyabhama draws inspiration from a real incident that occurred in the UK around twenty years ago. “However, we adapted the narrative to our cultural context. When we announced Satyabhama, some questioned why we were pursuing a heroine-oriented film instead of a hero-centric one. We believe Kajal’s performance in Satyabhama is remarkable. An elderly viewer described it not as a heroine-oriented film but as one with heroism. Any character could assume the role of the hero in our story, but the highlight is the woman’s achievement of an extraordinary feat. Sashi shared our perspective,” they added. The film will be released in the Nizam area by Mythri Movie Makers, while Dheeraj Mogilineni Entertainments will oversee the release in AP.
Additionally, the producers added that the women on the censor board praised Satyabhama. “Additionally, we’re incorporating the She Safe app, which has seen 5,000 downloads, into the film. We’re inviting the women who have the app and their families to a special screening. Sashi is occupied with his projects, but we aim to feature his stories under Aurum Arts. Sricharan’s classical music has elevated the cinematic experience,” they added.
