SBI disburses Rs 10 cr loans to Self-Help Groups

J Hussain Nayak, a member of the National Commission for ST, visited the SBI Bibi Nagar Branch on Saturday. The event was attended by Ravi Kumar Verma, General Manager NW-1, along with other senior bank officials. During the visit, Nayak interacted with the staff members of the branch, and Verma provided an overview of the bank’s commitment to customer service. He highlighted various initiatives such as the Contact Centre, WhatsApp Banking, and Cyber Fraud Awareness programs. Shri Verma also informed the Hon’ble member about the bank’s efforts in preventing digital fraud, citing recent instances where SBI employees successfully protected innocent customers from fraudsters.
Later,  Nayak and Verma participated in a Self-Help Group (SHG) customer outreach programme, where loans totaling Rs 10 crore were disbursed to members of 69 Self-Help Groups.
In his welcome address, Verma discussed various initiatives aimed at improving rural livelihoods, including PMSVANIDHI, PM VISWAKARMA, PMEGP, PMMY, Stand Up India, and financing for Self-Help Group members.
During the program, IK Gangadhar Rao, Additional Collector, commended SBI’s efforts in financing Self-Help Groups and praised the community coordinators for ensuring timely repayment.
