SC adjourns hearing in Krishna water sharing case to January 12

The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing of the Krishna Water Dispute Case between the two Telugu states till January 12. The Central Hydropower Department’s counsel appealed to the Supreme Court for some more time to file the counter. The court adjourned the hearing of the case (Krishna Water Dispute) to January 12.
The AP government has filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the new procedures for the Krishna Tribunal. The bench of Justice Suryakant and Justice Dipankar Dutta will conduct the trial. The Supreme Court has issued notices to the Central Government and Telangana to file a counter in this case. It is known that the central government has recently issued a gazette notification to redistribute Krishna waters between the states of AP and Telangana.
