SC collegium recommends transfer of 2 TG HC Judges

The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of seven High Court judges. The decision was taken during meetings held on April 15 and April 19, 2025.

Two sitting judges of the Telangana High Court — Justice Perugu Sree Sudha and Justice Kasoju Surendhar @ K. Surender — have been recommended for transfer to the Karnataka and Madras High Courts, respectively.

From Andhra Pradesh, Justice Dr Kumbhajadala Manmadha Rao has been recommended for transfer to the Karnataka High Court.

Five judges currently serving in the Karnataka High Court are also in

the transfer list. Justice Hemant Chandangoudar is being recommended for transfer to the Madras High Court, while Justice Krishnan Natarajan is to be sent to the Kerala High Court. Justice NS Sanjay Gowda is being moved to Gujarat, and Justice Dixit Krishna Shripad to the Orissa High Court.

The Supreme Court Collegium said that the transfers are being effected, “to infuse inclusivity and diversity in High Courts and to strengthen the quality of administration of justice.”

The recommendation is now pending approval from the Union Ministry of Law and Justice. Once cleared, the transfers will be formally notified and executed by the respective High Courts and the President of India.
