Social Welfare Minister Merugu Nagarjuna HAS said that the students of SC Gurukuls have achieved excellent results in the first round of JEE examinations as compared to corporate educational institutions. The Minister said that the students of AP SC Gurukuls excelled in JEE Mains exam as 93 students got a chance of admission to NITs and 151 students qualified for JEE Advanced.
Briefing media persons on Thursday, Minister Nagarjuna said that there are JEE and NEET training centres at Chinnatekur (Kurnool district), Adavi Takkellapadu (Guntur district) and Edupugallu (Krishna district) in the State under the SC Gurukula Vidyalayas organisation. He further said that 151 of these students have qualified for the JEE Advance exams and several SC students have scored up to 99.05 percentile marks in various subjects in JEE first round (main) exams.
Minister Nagarjuna said that overall in all subjects, Varada Pawan Kumar of Chinnatekur training centre scored 96.61, Mallepogu Avan Kumar 95.49 and Ravana Kiran Kumar 95.39 percentile, while G Manogna of Edpugallu scored 95.60 and Ajay Bhargav of Adavi Takkellapadu scored 93.63 percentiles and stood as the toppers in the Gurukuls. He further said that according to the cutoff marks expected to get seats in NITs, out of 151 students who have qualified for the JEE Advance exams from their Gurukuls, 93 are expected to get seats with the current marks.
The minister revealed that some of the students who have qualified for the advanced examination have scored the highest marks in some subjects, while in some subjects their marks have decreased due to various reasons. He said that all these students will be given the necessary training to get seats in the general category with their talent and not from the SC reservation section by giving them training to correct their errors in the JEE multiple-phase exams.
The Minister congratulated the students who secured the best marks in the JEE examinations, the teachers, and the officials who worked hard and obtained the best results.
