Scouting for talent statewide

Gully cricket has yielded many legends. Little known faces from remote rural areas have burst on the national scene aided by the right kind of mentoring and appropriate facilities. As part of Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh’s ‘Aadudam Andhra’ initiative, HM Dhyana Chandra, IAS, has been placed in full charge of the post of VC & MD of SAAP. He now has the unenviable task of scouting for talent statewide i.e. from over 15,000 villages and ward secretariats, 680 mandals, and 175 Assembly constituencies. Call it finding needle in a haystack of whatever, the finals will be conducted at Visakhapatnam.
