Scouts & Guides, SCR conduct cleanliness drive

The Bharat Scouts and Guides and the South Central Railway jointly conducted a mega cleanliness drive at Krishna Canal Station on Sunday. Around 160 Cub/Bulbuls, Scout/Guides and Rover/Rangers, along with Scout appointee/employees of JPN Open Group, Vijayawada, took part in the full-day cleanliness campaign.

A total of 103 bags of large garbage, plastic waste and around half track loose debris were collected by the Scouts and Guides during the cleanliness campaign. Under the supervision of M Gopala Krishna, Assistant District Commissioner and Senior Passenger Train Manager, the students started the drive in the morning and cleared the debris and garbage on tracks.

Special catering arrangements were made for the Scouts and Guides. The cleanliness drive concluded at 5 pm. D Srinivasa Rao, District Chief Commissioner, Scouts and Guides, and ADRM, Infrastructure praised M Gopala Krishna and the students for taking up the cleanliness campaign voluntarily. He said that the Bharat Scouts and Guides were always at the forefront in providing valuable services to the nation and its citizens.
