With construction activities intensifying in the Amaravati capital region, the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) held a coordination meeting at its Vijayawada office to review law and order and enhance safety protocols.
APCRDA Additional Commissioner G Surya Sai Praveen Chand directed officials from APCRDA and Amaravati Development Corporation Limited (ADCL) to ensure strict adherence to safety norms at construction sites. Emphasising zero tolerance towards child labour and gender discrimination, he mandated regular coordination with police and fire departments.
Contractors were instructed to maintain proper documentation of workers, vehicles, and machinery, and ensure safety compliance through active involvement of Project Management Consultancy (PMC) and Program Management Consultancy (PgMC) staff. Monthly awareness and training programmes on crime prevention and fire safety will also be conducted across all sites, under the supervision of relevant departments. The CRDA reaffirmed its commitment to support law enforcement in maintaining public safety in the region.
Guntur District SP S Satish Kumar, Fire Officer Srinivas Reddy, CRDA ENC R Gopalakrishna Reddy, Additional SP ATV Ravi Kumar, senior engineers, and local police officials participated in the meeting.
