Seers stage dharna in protest against adulteration of ‘laddu prasadam’

A large number of seers of various mutts and their disciples, supported by activists of various organisations, staged a dharna in front of the TTD administration building here on Tuesday in protest against the adulteration of Laddu Prasadam.
The Swamyjees of various mutts and their disciples staged a protest dharna holding placards of ‘Save Tirumala-Save Tirupati’. They raised slogans against the TTD board holding it responsible for making sacred Laddu Prasadam using animal fat oil. The entire area resonated with the slogans of Govinda. Later TTD EO J Shyamala Rao invited 10 seers to speak to him and they handed over a representation.
Talking to the media a seer said that since non-Hindus were taken into the TTD duties the sanctity of Tirumala degraded. They demanded that only Hindus should be taken into TTD administration.  
In Hindupur in Puttaparthi district, Seers, supported by hundreds of activists affiliated to the Hindu Aikya Vedika, staged a dharna in front of the Kadiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple demanding the arrest of the accused in the use of animal fat oil to make Laddu Prasadam.   They demanded the arrest of the then TTD chairman YS Subba Reddy, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy and EO Dharma Reddy.
