Seethakka conducts surprise inspection of TG Foods

Minister for Women and Child Welfare Seethakka, conducted a surprise inspection at the Telangana Foods office and factory located in Nacharam.
Telangana Foods is responsible for supplying various food products, including Balamrutham to Anganwadi centres. During her visit, the Minister checked the quality of the food products and inspected the cleanliness of the surroundings. The Minister also visited the food processing unit to understand the procedures involved and enquired about the working methods.
She personally examined the quality of the Balamrutham powder to ensure it met the required standards. As she toured the factory, the Minister gathered information from workers and staff members regarding the operations. Her unexpected inspection put the officials and staff on alert. The Telangana Foods officials briefed the Minister on the factory’s different departments and the performance of the machinery.
Seethakka was accompanied by Telangana Foods chairman Fayim and managing director Srinivas Reddy. The Minister issued several directives during her inspection, including immediate arrangements to cover processed food items and the use of meshes for food storage containers. She emphasised the importance of cleanliness and instructed the staff to immediately implement the use of gloves for handling food products. Seethakka also visited the Telangana Foods warehouses and reviewed the procedures from raw material processing to packaging. She stressed the importance of maintaining higher hygiene standards, considering the food is supplied to Anganwadis for children’s consumption.
Additionally, the Minister demanded a laboratory report on the quality of the food products to be submitted to her. She expressed displeasure over the snack food unit not functioning for a month due to technical issues and questioned the delay in repairs. She also toured the newly constructed units, expressing surprise over the fact that construction had not been completed even after a decade.
Seethakka ordered the immediate installation of machinery. Lastly, the Minister sought comprehensive details on the budget, expenses, challenges, qualifications, experience of senior staff, and their roles within Telangana Foods. She announced plans for a detailed review of Telangana Foods’ performance soon.
