Congress MLA Seethakka and the congress leaders and activists on Saturday staged a protest here demanding stringent action against those parading women naked in Manipur. They raised slogans condemning the incident.
Seethakka blamed the BJP for the inhuman incident. She accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of maintaining stoic salience on the ethnic violence which erupted in Manipur.
In fact, there is a 50,000-strong police force in the State, but the women did not enjoy any human rights.
It may be recalled that the incident created a furore in the country. Tribal people across the nation have been protesting over the unsavoury incident.
She criticised the BJP for trying to shield the accused in the disrobing incident.
The BJP has resorted to vote bank politics in Manipur as part of a conspiracy to safeguard the properties of Ambani and Adani.
The BJP has been trampling upon the human rights in Manipur, she said and demanded imposition of President Rule in the troubled state.
