The BJP is facing a ‘three steps forward, seven steps backwards’ situation in Telangana regarding the joining and quitting of its leaders. The current situation in the BJP is that nobody knows who will quit and when they are likely to quit.
Senior BJP leader Dr A. Chandrasekhar resigned from the BJP on Saturday.
Chandrasekhar left the BJP before the BJP could celebrate former MLA Jayasudha joining the party.
Moreover, it is learnt that some more people are in the queue to quit the party.
But they are likely to stay in the party for some more time and will leave at the right time for them.
Although Telangana BJP President G. Kishan Reddy had said that it is common for leaders to join and quit political parties, the way the leaders are quitting the BJP is embarrassing.
In fact, Chandrasekhar said that the BJP which has been claiming that it is the alternative to the ruling BRS, is now protecting the BRS in Telangana. He said that one can understand this by seeing the events in the state which make it clear that the BJP and the BRS are one.
Chandrasekhar also made it clear that he did not like the removal of Bandi Sanjay Kumar from the Telangana BJP President’s post when only a few months are left for the Assembly elections.
“I have not understood why the BJP high command removed Sanjay from the President’s post. I submitted my resignation as I did not like the BJP’s policies,” Chandrasekhar said.
He also made it clear that the Congress is the only alternative to the BRS now. The BJP will come third in the State, he said and added that the BJP’s graph has fallen substantially among the people.
He said that TPCC President Revanth Reddy had invited him to join the Congress. “I am going to join the Congress as per the invitation of Revanth Reddy,” he said.
