Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, emphasised the need to establishing a separate Tahsildar offices for Nalgonda town and its rural areas. He directed District Collector C Narayana Reddy to send proposals to the government in this regard.
On Tuesday, the Minister distributed 117 cheques worth Rs 116,000 each to beneficiaries of the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme at the Nalgonda Tahsildar office.
Addressing the media, he pointed out that there are still 200 pending cheques related to the scheme in the Nalgonda constituency, urging officials to expedite their distribution.
With Nalgonda’s population surpassing 200,000 and the existing Tahsildar office facing increased work pressure, the Minister said and highlighted the need for separate offices for the urban and rural areas, considering the merging of villages from the Kanagal and Tipparti mandals into the Nalgonda tahsil.
He instructed the District Collector to submit proposals for setting up a dedicated Tahsildar office in Nalgonda.
Additionally, he ordered the modernisation of the current Tahsildar office with Rs 25 lakh from the MLA’s Special Development Fund.
This includes renovations of the meeting hall, installation of a public address system, and upgradation of all facilities, along with air conditioning and necessary amenities.
The Minister praised the district’s progress in resolving Dharani applications, stating that Nalgonda is leading in dealing with the problem. Previously, 27,000 applications were pending, but through the efforts of the District Collector, this number has come to to 4,000, he said. He advised officials to ensure that the people visiting offices are not inconvenienced, and any issues faced by underprivileged individuals should be brought to his attention. Accompanying the Minister were Special Deputy Collector Sridevi, Nalgonda Tahsildar Srinivas, Municipal Chairman Burri Srinivas Reddy and officials.
