District Collector Venkatesh Dhotre on Wednesday made it very clear that private hospitals must abide by rules and regulations.
The Collector, accompanied by District Medical and Health Officer Tukaram Bhatt, made a surprise visit to a private hospital in Asifabad and interacted with patients. He inspected the wards.
Speaking on the occasion, Venkatesh Dhotre warned the private hospital management of action if they failed to abide by rules and regulations. He also inspected the laboratory in the hospitals. He enquired about the medical care being provided to patients.
He said that patients from tribal areas have been approaching private hospitals in the backdrop of people suffering from seasonal diseases. The doctors in private hospitals, like in government hospitals, should provide quality healthcare at affordable cost.
