Sexually abused women urged to make use of Bharosa Centre

District superintendent of police DV Srinivasa Rao on Wednesday called upon the girls and women, who are victims of sexual assault, should make good use of the Bharosa centre services.
At a programme held at District police headquarters here on Wednesday, the Superintendent of Police handed over a TV set and mobile phones to Bharosa Centre under the aegis of women safety wing of the police department.
The Bharosa centre was inaugurated in February 2024 to provide police, counselling, medical and legal services to victims. The victims will receive compensation with the cooperation of the district legal services authority.
So far, police counselling, medical and legal assistance has been extended in nine cases, he said, exhorting the people of sexual assault to contact the Bharosa centre on mobile phone No. 8712670561 so that the police personnel would visit the homes of the victim to counsel them then and there.
Information about the victims would be kept a closely-guarded secret, he said.
Therefore, women encountering sexual assault at work place or at any other places should avail the services of the Bharosa center services.
Tirumala, who assurmed the office of the SI in Bharosa Centre, called on the SP and greeted him by presenting him with a bouquet.
