Union Home Minister Amit Shah asked Telangana BJP leaders to come to New Delhi by Tuesday morning. Many BJP leaders left for New Delhi on Monday evening and others will go on Tuesday morning. Amit will have a mini core committee meeting with Telangana BJP leaders at 12 am on Tuesday.
Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy, Rajya Sabha Member Dr K. Laxman, BJP Vice-President DR Aruna, BJP National Executive Committee Members Vijayashanthi, Vivek Venkata Swamy, P. Muralidhar Rao, Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, and Telangana in-charges Tarun Chugh and Sunil Bansal and other important leaders are attending the meeting.
It is learnt that Amit will discuss with Telangana leaders the repercussions of the arrest of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in connection with the Delhi liquor scam and the current political situation in Telangana.
The meeting would also discuss the programmes to be taken up to strengthen the party.
Rumours doing the rounds in political circles in Telangana say that the meeting is going to discuss what sort of reaction the BJP will face in Telangana if the CBI arrests BRS MLC Kavitha in connection with the Delhi liquor scam as the meeting was arranged on the very next day of Manish Sisodia’s arrest.
However, one senior Telangana BJP leader said that the party will not discuss such issues. Tuesday’s meeting will discuss only how to strengthen the party in Telangana and the party’s internal issues, he said.
