YSRTP President YS Sharmila objected to reports that she will soon take charge as APPCC chief. She also denied receiving a proposal of a Congress Rajya Sabha ticket from Karnataka.

Tweeting regarding this on Friday she said that she was always committed to the cause of Telangana and would continue to fight for its people.

“I was always in Telangana and will be in Telangana till my last breath. I request political speculators to stop making plans about my future and instead write about issues pertaining to the people of Telangana highlighting the misrule and corruption of KCR, his family and his party activists. My future is in Telangana with its people,” Sharmila said in her Tweet.

But she did not deny reports that she might merge her party with the Congress but said that the media must stop carrying speculative stories about her.

Manikrao Thakre, the Congress in-charge in Telangana, said that the party leadership is in touch with Sharmila. He said that the Congress will gain in Andhra Pradesh if Sharmila joins the Congress.

He said that all party leaders are now working together in Telangana and that TPCC President Revanth Reddy and CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka are working hard for the party.

He expressed the hope that Bhatti’s padayatra will contribute a lot to the party and that Priyanka Gandhi is now focusing on Telangana and will enter the field in two or three days.

He also said that many key leaders of the BJP are ready to join the Congress as the people have now realised that the BRS and the BJP are one.
