Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed BJP Telangana unit leaders Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Union Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy, and Rajya Sabha Member Dr K. Laxman to zero in on leaders from other political parties who would like to join the saffron party.
He told Telangana BJP leaders to work jointly as there was a good chance of the party coming to power. Amit also praised the State leaders’ hard work for the party.
Amit had an unscheduled meeting with Sanjay, Kishan, and Laxman after his flight developed a snag. He was scheduled to leave for Kochi at 11.50 am from the Hakimpet Airport, but he could leave only at 3.30 pm. Another plane had to be arranged for Amit. Meanwhile, he got almost four hours to talk to State leaders.
Amit discussed state and national politics with state leaders. Later, Sanjay said that he had handed over a brief note to Amit explaining the prospects of the BJP in Telangana.
The Telangana BRS leaders also discussed the BRS’ memes on flex bannersinvolving Amit. The BRS had installed flexes and posters with the slogan, ‘Washing Powder Nirma…Welcome to Amit Shah’ in Hyderabad. In the flex banners, the BRS depicted how Suvendu Adhikari, Sujana Choudhary, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Himantha Biswa Sharma, Narayana Rane and others were declared clean after they had joined the BJP.
Zero-tolerance against terror: Shah
The Centre will continue its policy of zero tolerance against terrorism in future too, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said here on Sunday. He was attending the 54th Raising Day celebrations of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) as chief guest at the National Industrial Security Academy in Hakimpet. During the event, Union Home Minister took the salute at the ceremonial parade and released CISF’s magazine ‘Sentinel–2023’ and a coffee table book. The Union Home Minister also went to the Brave Heart Memorial and paid tributes to the brave hearts by laying a wreath at the memorial. The Union Home Minister said that in the last nine years under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has successfully tackled all internal security challenges using the CAPFs and State Police forces. “In all the three sectors of concern for us, that is, Kashmir, the Northeast and Left extremism hit areas, there is a significant reduction in violence. Public confidence is increasing and those spreading separatism and terrorism are surrendering and joining the mainstream. The CAPFs (Central Armed Police Forces) have made a huge contribution in tackling violence.
Separatism, terrorism and anti-national activities will be dealt with firmly,” he said.
“Today, India has become a fast-growing economy and it is our responsibility to keep the country’s industrial institutions, mines, ports and airports safe. The CISF is providing security at 66 major airports, 14 major seaports, nuclear and space institutions, the Delhi Metro, the Statue of Unity and many industrial units and mines. The CISF has adopted a hybrid model which will enhance its role in times to come,” he added.
After the parade, an investiture ceremony was also held. The Union Home Minister decorated 23 CISF officers and personnel with the Police Medal for Gallantry, the President’s Police Medal for distinguished service, the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service and the Jeevan Raksha Padak.
Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, Union Culture Minister G. Kishan Reddy, the CISF DG, other dignitaries and CISF personnel and their families were also present.
