SI placed under suspension for attacking woman

Jagtial Rural Sub-Inspector A Anil, who allegedly attacked a woman on a bus two days ago, was placed under suspension, according to District Superintendent of Police Aggadi Bhaskar on Thursday.  

Inspector General of Police P Chandrasekhar Reddy on Thursday issued orders placing the sub-inspector of police under suspension. The orders were issued after an enquiry report was submitted to the IGP. 

It may be recalled that Jagtial Rural Sub-Inspector of Pollice A Anil slapped a woman on a bus on Tuesday. The incident was a sequel to a tiff between his wife and a woman, identified as Sheik Farha over sharing of a seat in a TSRTC bus when they were on their way to Jagtial from Karimnagar. 

The sub-inspector on being informed by his wife of a tiff with a woman boarded the bus when it reached Jagital and slapped her. He also allegedly snatched the mobile phone from her when she was recording the episode. The woman lodged a complaint with the Jagtial police. The police registered a case against the sub-inspector and a constable too under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. 

The women belonging to the minority community staged a protest on Wednesday and met Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLC K Kavitha and poured out their grievances to her.
