Siddu Jonnalagadda’s latest film Jack was a huge disaster at the box office. BVSN Prasad is the producer, while Bommarillu Bhaskar directed the film. There were huge expectations because the actor’s earlier films DJ Tillu and Tillu Square were very successful at the box office.
But Jack was released, and from the first day onwards, audiences rejected it. The collections were unimpressive and by the second day, the film was removed from some screens—indicating how poorly it was received. The producer had paid a high remuneration to Siddu, banking on the actor’s recent track record.
However, the producer didn’t even recover 10 percent of the budget and many distributors incurred huge losses. Aware of the situation, Siddu decided to return half of his remuneration to the producer. According to a source, he returned Rs 4 crore to the producer, acknowledging the financial loss.
With this gesture, many in the industry have appreciated Siddu’s movie. His understanding of the film business and support for the producer have become the talk of the town.
