Sisodia takes charge as SpecialCS for Handlooms & Textiles

Senior IAS officer RP Sisodia officially assumed charge as the Special Chief Secretary for Handlooms and Textiles under the Industries and Commerce Department at the State Secretariat on Wednesday. Known for his administrative acumen and visionary approach, Sisodia is expected to steer the department towards holistic growth, with a focus on empowering weavers, promoting indigenous textiles and enhancing global market access. Prior to taking charge, Sisodia performed a traditional puja. On the occasion, Handlooms and Textiles Commissioner Rekha Rani briefed him on key departmental matters, ongoing schemes and future strategies. The discussions highlighted major initiatives to strengthen the handloom sector, modernise infrastructure and improve the livelihoods of artisans. The event was attended by VR Vijayaraghava Naik, Chief Executive Officer, Andhra Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries Board; Murali Krishna and Srikanth Prabhakar, Handlooms and Textile Department Additional Directors; Kanna Babu and Raja Rao, Joint Directors; Nageswara Rao, APCO General Manager, and others.
