The Telangana Government established the Skills University of Telangana in Hyderabad with public–private partnership to achieve this objective, he said.
He said that 17 types of certificate, diploma and degree courses would be provided by this university to help students acquire the skills required for industries, and the syllabus will be designed for getting jobs.
He said that ITIs are being converted into Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs) to train youth to meet the needs of modern industries, and accordingly, the government has entered into a 10-year MoU with Tata Technologies Limited (TTL) to upgrade 65 ITIs in Telangana into ATCs.

Youth are trained in ATCs according to the requirements of modern industries. For this, advanced equipment and technology will be provided in ATCs. Tata Technologies Limited (TTL) employs 130 experts to impart training. In ATCs, 15,860 people are trained in six types of long-term courses and 31,200 people in 23 types of short-term courses.

He said that only 1.5 lakh people were trained in the ITIs of the state in the last 10 years, but with these ATCs, we are planning to train four lakh people in the next 10 years.

He said that ITIs are going to be converted into ATCs at a cost of Rs 2,324 crore. Apart from imparting training for various courses, the ATCs would also function as skill development centres.

The ATCs would also be technology hubs for entrepreneurs as well as small, micro, medium and large-scale industries, Ponguleti added.
