Skill hubs being set up for youth: Minister Parthasarathy

Minister for Housing K Parthasarathy has announced that skill hubs are being established in all 175 constituencies to provide technical training to unemployed youths.
The Minister, accompanied by district Collector K. Vetri Selvi, inaugurated the ‘Mega Job Mela’ at the IIIT campus in Nuzvid on Friday. Speaking at the event, the Minister reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to creating over 20 lakh jobs in the next five years. He emphasised the Government’s goal of making an entrepreneur in every home by providing necessary support. “The Government has prioritised quality education, large-scale employment generation, and entrepreneurship. Efforts are underway to attract world-renowned MNCs to establish units in Andhra Pradesh,” the Minister highlighted.
He acknowledged that a new industrial policy is being formulated to attract more investments and announced the conduct of a ‘Skill Census.’ The Minister revealed that NTPC will set up non-conventional energy units in the State, costing Rs 1.87 lakh crore, which will provide 1.06 lakh jobs. “IT Minister Nara Lokesh recently visited foreign countries, met with Google, and convinced them to set up a unit in the State. He also persuaded Mittal Steel to establish its unit here,” Minister Parthasarathy observed.
The Minister further announced that Nara Lokesh had convinced Reliance to establish 500 compressed biogas units at an investment of Rs 65,000 crore in the State. K. Parthasarathy pledged to focus on industrial development while simultaneously implementing welfare schemes to uplift the poor.
Collector Vetri Selvi clarified that technical training is being provided to unemployed youths in 8 skill hubs in the district. After learning about job opportunities and the required technical skills, eligible candidates receive training to secure employment in various industries.
Nuzvid Sub-collector Smaran Raj, IIIT VC Amarendra Kumar, DRDA PD Vijay Raju, and Skill Development Officer Jitendra Kumar were among those present at the event.
